The 8th Sino-Russia SME Cooperation Roundtable was held in Changsha on December 15. Vice Governor Sui Zhongcheng, Assistant Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee Shen Beili and Presidium Member of the Central Committee of A Just Russia Party attended.

The roundtable was jointly hosted by the International Department of the CPC Central Committee and the International Department of A Just Russia Party.

From January to October this year, bilateral trade volume between China and Russia reached 68 billion USD, up 21.3% over the same period last year. The roundtable, initiated by the Communist Party of China and A Just Russia Party, has promoted fruitful cooperation between local governments and small and medium-size enterprises (SMEs) in the two countries and has deepened Sino-Russia pragmatic cooperation. Themed on "Sino-Russia SMEs Cooperation under the Connection of ‘Belt and Road’ Initiative and the Eurasian Economic Union", the roundtable attracted 73 Hunan enterprises and 18 Russian enterprises to participate, covering environmental protection, advanced materials , tourism, architecture, logistics, medicine, agricultural products processing, construction machinery and other fields.

Sui Zhongcheng said that Hunan will take this opportunity to actively promote exchanges and cooperation between Hunan and Russia in the fields of economy and trade, agriculture, science and technology, culture, education, and tourism. Sui expected entrepreneurs from both sides to actively cooperate with each other, so as to achieve mutual benefits and win-win results.

Shen Beili said China and Russia should make good use of SMEs' advantages of "small but flexible" to support Sino-Russia SMEs in fully exploiting new potential for cooperation, so as to speed up Sino-Russia pragmatic cooperation through “innovation”.

Presidium Member of the Central Committee of A Just Russia Party said Russia and Hunan have strong cooperative intention in such fields as agriculture, animal husbandry, and forestry. He hoped the two sides would continue to make new breakthroughs through the roundtable.
