A promotion conference concerning Hunan and Finland’s cooperation in agriculture, economy and trade took place in Changsha on December 12. Ambassador of the Republic of Finland to China Jarno Syrjälä led a delegation to attend the conference. The promotion was organized by the Hunan Provincial Agriculture Commission and co-hosted by the Northern Europe-Hunan Agricultural Industrial Park (NEHAIP) and the Central China International Agricultural Creative Park (CCIACP). Heads from over 40 agencies of Hunan Government including the Foreign Affairs (Overseas Chinese Affairs) Office of Hunan Province, the Commerce Department of Hunan Province and the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Hunan Sub-council were present.

An inaugural ceremony was held at the promotion conference for the purchasing base of Hunan’s camellia oil which is to be exported to Europe. The base is located at CCIACP. Chairman of the CCIACP Yang Demin introduced that the inauguration means Hunan’s camellia oil will step into European market from today on.

According to Gui Xiaojie, chief engineer of Hunan Forestry Department, Hunan’s camellia enjoys high reputation with its high yield. China accounts for 95% of global production of camellia while nearly half of it is from Hunan. Hunan takes the first place in China in terms of the camellia’s plantation area, yield, output value, and scientific and technological achievements.

The CCIACP has set up a special offline experience zone, covering an area of 110,000 sqm. It aims to serve all the agricultural enterprises of the six provinces in Central China by providing online sharing benefits and big supply chain for them. In this way, an industry chain focusing on “ecological agricultural Internet of things” will be built for each enterprise.
