First Eco-agriculture and Smart Countryside Internet Conference to Open in Yiyang

At the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on August 14, it was announced that the First Eco-agriculture and Smart Countryside Internet Conference would be held in Yiyang, Hunan, from September 26 to 28.


The Hunan Provincial Government, the Information Center of the Ministry of Agriculture, and the Office of the Central Leading Group for Cyberspace Affairs will make the necessary preparations.


The Conference hosts are: the Yiyang Municipal Government, the Hunan Agricultural Committee, the Cyberspace Administration of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee, and the 58 Group.


Yiyang is a model national modern agricultural demonstration area, and a pilot provincial modern agricultural reform city. Yiyang has made great efforts in the area of agricultural supply-side structural reforms to use local resources and information networks. It is implementing internet-based poverty relief projects, and exploring “internet + modern agriculture”, and “internet + targeted poverty alleviation” models. By the end of 2016, there were more than 17,000 e-commerce companies and private businesses in Yiyang with annual e-commerce trading volume hitting 20 billion yuan. Its online trading volume and growth rate are Hunan’s highest.


The Conference will have a series of events, including: the first agriculture and countryside internet forum; a dialogue between internet and agriculture and countryside development; several agriculture and countryside internet development project promotions; an agricultural product expo; a road show of agriculture and countryside internet business startup projects; and, a tour of Yiyang’s agriculture and countryside internet companies and media.
