The Dong Chorus, called "gal laox" in Dong language, is a folk chorus music with multi-voice. It needs neither conductor nor accompaniment, presenting natural chorus. It mainly conveys the praise of nature, labor, love and friendship. It is also an important part of Dong's social structure, marriage, cultural heritage and spiritual life. In 2009, The Dong Chorus was inscribed on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
