Hunan Culture Promoted in Mexico City

On November 19, a Hunan culture and tourism promotion conference was held in Mexico City. It was a part of the series activities of “2018 Splendid Xiaoxiang – Hunan Cultural Week in America”. 
 
Chinese Embassy Cultural Attache Zhuang Lixiao, Hunan Cultural and Tourism Department Deputy Director Gao Yangxian, Planning Director of the Mexico City Tourism Bureau, and International Affairs Director of the Mexican Tourism and Service Chamber of Commerce, were present. 
 
Gao described Hunan’s scenery, cultural relics, and hometowns of Chinese great leaders. Despite the vast geographic distance and differences in customs and tourism resources, Hunan and Mexico City share huge potential for cooperation, Gao said. Hunan expects to strengthen exchanges and collaboration with Mexico City in tourism and culture, and further consolidate the deep traditional friendship. 
 
Zhuang noted that, the China-Mexico strategic partnership has deepened. Substantial cooperation has been made in various fields. Both countries have long history, profound culture, and abundant tourism resources. Huge potentials exist in cultural and tourism cooperation. Tourism not only provides recreations, but also promote cultural exchange. Chinese and Mexican people can learn about each other’s culture, and bring two peoples closer to each other. She hoped to take the opportunity to promote China-Mexico cooperation in tourism resource development, and strive for win-win results. 
 
Chinese Security Committee in Mexico Chairman, Feng Chengkang, presented calligraphy works of Chairman Mao Zedong’s two poems to his Mexican friends. 
 
Mexicans prefer corn and pepper, and Hunan cuisine features spicy taste. A Mexican traveler said, “I’ve never been to Hunan, but I yearn for Hunan’s beautiful scenery. Now I plan to visit Hunan, to learn about Hunan and Chinese culture”. 
 
NMF, a Mexican tourism company, and CITS (China International Travel Service) Changsha office reached a cooperation agreement at the conference.
