On the 69th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, the Hunan Circus Troupe held a party to extend best wishes to the motherland.
The Hunan Circus Troupe staged its 174th “A Dream Journey” show at an acrobatic theatre in Branson, Missouri, in the U.S. on October 1. The two-hour show won thunderous applause and cheers.
At the invitation of an American company, the Hunan Circus Troupe performed in Branson this June. Branson is the third largest art performing center in the U.S. with only 10,000 population. Its over 50 theatres have a total seating of about 64,000 people. More than 100 performances are staged here every year. This show is so far the only Chinese performance in Branson.
It was a huge challenge for the troupe, said an experienced acrobat Hu Tao. “We have to give two shows every day for ten months, despite being unaccustomed to the performing and living environment,” he added.
This is a part of the Hunan Performance Group’s “Authentic China” international performances. It is the longest, and most influential show in Hunan’s cultural going-global campaign.
Meanwhile, a long-term photography exhibition was launched to display Hunan’s natural wonders, culture, and social development.
