A ceremony to celebrate the Huazhao Festival was held in Wangcheng District of Changsha. Huazhao Festival, literally, birthday of all flowers, which is observed on the second day of the second month, the twelfth day of the second month, and the fifteenth day of the second month in the Chinese lunar calendar. The festival symbolizes that flowers are blooming when spring comes.
Traditionally, 12 girls dressed in Hanfu (the traditional clothing of the Han ethnicity) danced to the music, paid homage to the Flower God, read eulogy, made a libation, offered incense, and wore flowers in their hair.
It is said that Huazhao Festival is an important traditional Chinese folk holiday in ancient China.
