The “2019 Taiwan University Students Hunan Culture Study Camp” opening ceremony was held at the Hunan University of Chinese Medicine on July 7. Huang Lanxiang, CPC Hunan Provincial Standing Committee member and CPC Hunan Provincial Committee United Front Work Department director, attended.

Director Huang presented a camp flag to the participants. She noted that Hunan and Taiwan have recently increased exchanges and cooperation. They have been actively participated in and received wide acclaim from the people of Hunan and Taiwan. She expected the participants to explore Hunan during the next few days and experience the long-standing and profound Chinese traditional culture. They will witness the motherland's rapid progress and changes and the national reform and development achievements. They will feel the same origin, root, and blood bond. The intimacy makes the research activity a real journey of “roots-seeking” and “friendship”. Youths from both sides of the Taiwan Strait were expected to join hands and shoulder their heavy responsibilities together. They can be good communicators of Chinese traditional culture, promoters of peaceful development across the Strait, builders of a common good homeland, and assistants of exchanges and cooperation between Hunan and Taiwan, to work together for the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.

The camp was organized by the Ministry of Education and the All-China Federation of Taiwan Compatriots, and undertaken by the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee United Front Work Department, the Hunan University of Chinese Medicine, and the Hunan Provincial Federation of Taiwan Compatriots. Participants came from Taiwan universities such as Shih Hsin University and the National Kaohsiung University of Science and Technology. During the six-day event, they will visit Changsha Yuelu Academy, Zhuzhou Power Valley, Liling Ceramic Valley and other places in Hunan.
