Hunan Vice Governor He Baoxiang met in Shanghai with Poland, Romania, and Belarus guests attending the China International Import Expo (CIIE) on November 6, 2018. They were Polish Minister Marek Suski, Romanian Minister of Economy Dănuţ Andruşcă, and Belarus Mogilev Regional Executive Committee Chairman Vladimir Domanevskiy.
Vice Governor He introduced the economic and social development of Hunan to the guests. He said, “Hunan has implemented innovation-oriented opening up and development strategy. It has formed a modern comprehensive transportation system integrating railway, aviation, water, expressway, and rail transit. It has 11 industries, including machinery, petrochemical, food, non-ferrous metals, light industry, metallurgy, building materials, and electronic information, each worth one hundred billion CNY.” He continued, “Hunan bears profound traditional friendship with Poland, Romania, and Belarus. We expect to find suitable cooperation areas and give full play to our industrial advantages respectively. For instance, we may further enhance cooperation in such fields as international logistics, bilateral trade, cultural tourism, modern agriculture, infrastructure construction, and mutual investment expansion.”
Taking the historical CIIE as an opportunity, Hunan will welcome a broader space for opening up and cooperation. Polish Minister Suski remarked that Poland has close exchanges and frequent interactions with Hunan. In this September, the Hunan Intangible Cultural Heritage Exchange Week was staged in Warsaw, attracting numerous local people. He hoped the two sides would deepen cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, and culture.
Romanian Minister Andruşcă believed that Romania and Hunan have sound cooperation in pig breeding, butchering, processing, and railway equipment. He looked forward to expanding collaboration fields with Hunan.
“The China-Belarus Industrial Park is a cooperation model and win-win result of the two countries,” noted Domanevskiy, Belarus Mogilev Regional Executive Committee chairman. He expected to sign a cooperation roadmap with Hunan to better promote mutual projects implementation.
