Hunan Railways See More Passengers during National Day Holiday

Changsha railway traffic set new highs during the National Day and the Mid-Autumn Festival holidays.

There were more than 1.9 million railway trips from 18 Hunan high-speed railway stations during nine days of holiday travel at Changsha South Railway Station. This is up 7 percent from last year. For nine consecutive days, the daily average number of passengers was 220,000.

During the holiday period, Changsha Railway Station welcomed nearly 80,000 passengers per day an increase of 16.87 percent over last year.

The railway authority announced that trains bound for, or stopping at, Beijing will have an additional security check beginning on 9 October and ending 31 October. Short-distance travelers are advised to avoid taking the Beijing train.
