Governor Xu Dazhe Meets with Romanian Vice Prime Minister GAVRILESCU

Hunan Governor Xu Dazhe met with Romanian Vice Prime Minister and Environment Minister Grațiela-Leocadia GAVRILESCU in Changsha on the evening of May 17, 2017. She came to attend the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation in Beijing held on May 14 and 15.

Governor Xu welcomed the guests and briefed on Hunan’s economic and social development. He said, “President Xi Jinping made a keynote speech at the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation opening ceremony. It mentions about building a peaceful, prosperous, open, innovative, and civilized road, and shows China’s cooperation sincerity on promoting “the Belt and Road” Initiative. The Initiative will definitely open a new chapter for common development of countries in the world.”

“Hunan has been attaching great importance to communicating and cooperating with the “Belt and Road” countries.” He continued, “We hope your visit will be a new starting point for both sides to make more exchanges and cooperation. The strengths of both sides in agriculture, environmental protection, tourism, culture, and education therefore will be better played to in the future.” He added, “We expect to extend in-depth cooperation with Romanian counterpart in industry development, environmental treatment, sci-tech innovation, and culture and education. Let’s contribute together to the ‘Belt and Road’ development.”

Vice Prime Minister GAVRILESCU remarked that she was so glad to visit Hunan. Romanian government has paid great attention to cooperate with Hunan and is willing to deepen exchange with Hunan counterpart, she noted, adding that it would love to create sound environment for both sides to make progress in cooperation on industrial and agricultural development, infrastructure construction, and sister-city relationship establishment.
