The three-day Dynamic Macao Business and Trade Fair - Hunan Changsha kicked off on April 10, 2015.

 

A series of activities for the event are being held, covering theme exhibition, sales exhibition, trade negotiation, business promotion and on-site promotion. The hall for product exhibition covers an area of ten thousand square meters with 260 booths set up. More than 100 Macao-based enterprises attended the product exhibition with over one thousand duty-free goods. Citizens come to the hall to appreciate the authentic one-stop Portuguese style while eating, shopping, and enjoying themselves.

 

In addition to product exhibition, rich business promotion activities, including the Symposium on Cooperation Between Enterprises of Hunan, Macao and Portuguese-speaking Countries, Hunan-Macao Tourism Promotion Meeting, and Hunan-Macao Industrial Exchange Symposium, were held on the same day to expedite the in-depth tourism and trade development between Hunan and Macao.

 

Macao and Hunan have maintained good cooperation and communication in various sectors such as trade, culture and tourism. As of 2013, 289 projects had been invested by Macao in Hunan, contracting overseas capital of 1.04641 billion USD with 814.14 million USD actually utilized.

Hunan Governor Meets Macao SAR Government Delegation for Exchanges and Cooperation

 

Du Jiahao, governor of Hunan Province, met in Changsha with a delegation led by Lionel Leong Vai Tac, secretary for Economy and Finance of the Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) Government, on April 10, 2015. The delegation is here attending the Dynamic Macao Business and Trade Fair.

 

Du Jiahao congratulated the delegation on successfully hosting the event in Changsha. He said that Macao and Hunan are highly complementary in various sectors such as trade, agriculture, culture, tourism, environmental protection, exhibition, and social undertakings. Therefore, he expected that both sides will expand cooperation fields, enhance cooperation level and inject vigor to seek new opportunities for common development. He also expressed that Hunan will take Macao as a link and window to boost exchanges and cooperation with Portuguese-speaking countries and step up its going global and bringing in efforts.

 

Lionel Leong Vai Tac said that with the improvement of transportation infrastructure like high-speed rail, the space and potential for exchanges and cooperation between Hunan and Macao has increased. He expressed his hope to enhance mutual exchanges and cooperation and achieve common development by focusing on the "One Belt and One Road" (the "Silk Road Economic Belt" and "21st Century Maritime Silk Road") initiatives.

Secretary of Economy and Finance of Macao Leads a Delegation to Hunan

 

 

Leong Vai Tac, secretary of economy and finance of Macao Special Administrative Region will lead a 400-people delegation to attend the "Dynamic Macao Business and Trade Fair - Hunan Changsha" on April 10, with the purpose of deepening cooperation in economy, trade, tourism and culture between Hunan and Macao.

 

Changsha as the 18th stop of the "Dynamic Macao Business and Trade Fair" will hold the event at Hunan International Conference and Exhibition Center, covering an exhibition area of 10,000 square meters with 260 booths set up. Over 100 enterprises are expected to promote their goods at the "Dynamic Macao Famous Products Fair". Citizens can experience a one-stop service with Macao's food, recreation and shopping.

 

During the fair, the Cooperation Symposium Between Enterprises of Hunan, Macao and Portuguese-speaking Countries will be held. It aims to bridge the communication and cooperation between Hunan enterprises and Portuguese-speaking countries via Macao's channel, and intends to assist the enterprises to seek cooperation or make investment in those countries. The Macao Government Tourist Office will organize a series of business promotion activities like Hunan-Macao Tourism Promotion Fair, in a bid to market Macao's tourism resources and distinctive tourism products, as well as further propel collaboration in tourism, business and trade between Hunan and Macao.

Dynamic Macao Business and Trade Fair in Changsha Slated for April 10-12

 

On April 7, a road show of the dynamic Macao famous product trade fair, a highlight of the Dynamic Macao Business and Trade Fair, was staged.

 

Free samples of Macao specialties are favored by visitors.

 

The Dynamic Macao Business and Trade Fair is to be commenced in Changsha, Hunan on April 10, following other 17 cities including Shanghai, Chongqing, Beijing, Changchun and Nanjing. With face-to-face and one-stop services, citizens will be able to experience the authentic life style of Macao.
 
The event includes five main activities, namely, special subject display, product promotion, business and trade promotion, industry matching, and characteristic performances. At the fair, Changsha citizens and visitors can buy genuine Macao specialties with local cheap price. Particularly, the food zone set up in Changsha stop provides Portuguese cuisine like Portuguese custard tart, coffee, Australian milk tea, and pork chop bun. Portuguese folk dance will be performed twice a day.
 
Other activities like the Symposium on Cooperation Between Enterprises of Hunan, Macao and Portuguese-speaking Countries, Hunan-Macao Tourism Meeting, Hunan-Mao Business and Trade Matching Meeting, and Hunan-Macao Industrial Exchange Symposium are also scheduled during the event.

Enterprises of Hunan, Macao and Portuguese-speaking Countries Discuss Cooperation

 

The Symposium on Cooperation Between Enterprises of Hunan, Macao and Portuguese-speaking Countries was held in Changsha on April 10, 2015. Twenty-two delegates of Portuguese-speaking countries exchanged ideas with representatives of Hunan's governments and enterprises, expressing their will to make Macao a bridge for Hunan-based enterprises' market-expansion in their countries.
 
In recent years, Hunan has maintained increasing trade with Macao and Portuguese-speaking regions and countries. In 2014, the province's export volume to Macao reached 39.3 million USD, increasing by 6.8%, with the export commodities mainly covering pigs, fresh and frozen pork, and furniture and building materials. In the same year, its export volume to countries including Angola, Mozambique and Portugal exceeded 10 million USD.
 
"The State Council has given nods to the Plan on Developing City Clusters Along the Middle Reaches of the Yangtze River, which is of great importance to the all-round rise of central China and regional integrated development," said Zhou Yue, deputy director of the Department of Commerce of Hunan Province. He added that Hunan will focus on key projects like "building a bridge and expanding the market" to strengthen the relationship with Macao and Portuguese-speaking regions and countries and advance the cooperation in competitive industries.

Hunan Becomes Macao's Third Biggest Market for Tourism

 

With over 120 thousand Hunan visitors to Macao for the first three months this year, Hunan has domestically become Macao’s third biggest market for tourism. On April 10, the Dynamic Macao Business and Trade Fair & Hunan-Macao Tourism Promotion Meeting was launched in Changsha. Tourism enterprises from both sides discussed cooperation issues to provide more tourism platforms and better travel experiences for Hunan-Macao travel enthusiasts. 
 
Tourism is a pillar industry of Macao’s economy. According to statistics from the Macao Government Tourist Office, mainland China is the biggest market of Macao tourism, whose visitors account for 60% of all Macao visitors. Moreover, Hunan is one of provinces that have the most visitors to Macao.
 
At present, short-term self-guided tours such as weekend trips are the main form for Hunan people to visit Macao. To attract more Hunan visitors, Macao will mainly promote leisure tourism, focus on more convenient transportation and more abundant tourism products, in addition to providing various discounts.
