Second Dongting Lake Eco-culture Tourism Festival Launched

The Second Dongting Lake Eco-culture Tourism and Watersports Festival began in Yuanjiang City on August 26. Eight elite Chinese and foreign school teams including Oxford, Cambridge, Harvard, an Ivy League, Tsinghua, Sun Yat-Sen, Southeast and the Tianjin University of Science and Technology, along with 24 Chinese teams gathered to compete for the championship of 2018 Rowing Alliance Contest Yuanjiang Stop. 
The 2018 Yuanjiang Stop Rowing Alliance Contest is one of the formal competitions included in the annual plan of Watersports Administration Center of the General Administration of Sport in China. A preliminary contest was held on August 25, with the final the next day. With four 1000m racing courses, this two-day contest includes men’s and women’s 1000m double sculls rowing, quadruple sculls, and a single-sculls coxless eight. 
The eight elite school teams participated in a men’s 1000m quadruple sculls rowing, and the Ivy League Team won first prize with the time of 3 minutes and 36.98 seconds.
