More Trains Run to Tackle National Day Travel Rush

On 18 September, the Guangzhou Railway (Group) Corporation announced that it will add 21 high-speed trains running through Hunan to meet increasing travel demand during the National Day holiday which runs from September 28 to October 8. The number of trips made by Hunan passengers will hit nearly 16.3 million, up 8.3% year on year.

China is expected to see a growth in the number of tourists during the 2017 National Day holiday periods. This year, the holiday season spans eight days from October 1 to 8, as Mid-Autumn Day falls on October 4.

A total of 1.9 million trips are expected to be made by train in Hunan on October 1 which is expected to be a record.

Presently, high-speed train and ordinary train tickets between September 30 and October 2 from Hunan to Beijing, Tianjin, and Zhengzhou are sold out.

Guangzhou Railway Corporation will add 21 high-speed trains running between Guangzhou and Shenzhen and Changsha, Shaoyang, Xinhuang, Huaihu, and Yongzhou during the National Day travel period. It will add 64 ordinary trains for Jishou, Zhangjiajie, Yueyang, Changsha, Chenzhou, Leiyang, Yongzhou, Shaoyang, and Huaihua.

Some train schedules will be adjusted during the period. The K534/K53 which runs between Huaihua and Shanghai will resume. The K2367/K2369 between Changsha and Jinggangshan will operate daily.
