National Intellectual Property Program Launched in Changsha

On July 5, 2017, an intellectual property (IP) program initiated by the State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO) was launched in Changsha. The program aims to provide patent competitive status, IP skill trainings, patent examination, and IP consultation for Hunan industry. SIPO Deputy Director He Hua and Hunan Vice Governor Xiang Lili addressed the opening ceremony.

Initially launched in 2014, the program is customized to provide one-stop IP service for the public. The 2017 program is scheduled to be held in Changsha, Dalian, Ningbo, and Chengdu.

The 2017 program in Changsha invited experts to share IP environment in countries along the Belt and Road, patent status of high-speed rail technology and equipment, industrial robot as a key technology, and IP regional distribution information with participants. Practical operating skills were imparted to the participants, including patent operation, patent valuation quantitative evaluation, patent application information retrieval, and corporate IP risk governance and response measures.

At the opening ceremony, the Hunan Intellectual Property Office signed cooperation arrangements with Patent Examination Cooperation Hubei Center of SIPO Patent Office and Patent Information Center of SIPO Patent Office respectively.
