Hunan-Japan trade rose stably in the first 11 months of 2016.

According to the Changsha Customs data, Hunan’s export and import trade with Japan reached 7.44 billion yuan, up by 18.1% year on year. Import of mechanical and electrical products hit 4.1 billion, increased by 35.6%, and accounting for 82.8% of the total imports.

On the one hand, jointly-ventured automobile production witnessed a good sale, which greatly fueled spare and accessory parts imports. From January to November this year, GAC FIAT has sold 110,000 Jeep Cherokee cars; GAC Mitsubishi Motors won orders for over 6000 Outlanders, and its other models also saw a surge of sale.

Good sale of automobiles facilitated import of spare and accessory parts. In the first 11 months, Hunan has imported Japan-made engines, gearboxes, and other parts of 1.11 billion yuan, up by 47.9%.

On the other hand, Japan was a major supplier of high-end rail transit parts for Hunan.

In the first 11 months, Zhuzhou CRRC Times Electric Co., Ltd. has imported products worth one billion from Japan, rising by 32.5%. CRRC Zhuzhou Electric Co., Ltd. imported Japanese parts for 81.16 billion yuan, increasing by 3.4 times.
