Hunan Province has achieved a total of 95.972 billion yuan on its post and telecommunications business in the first three quarters this year, a year-on-year increase of 49.7%, according to the statistics released by the Statistical Bureau of Hunan Province on Oct. 24, 2016. Among which, the total business volume of post is 10.157 billion yuan, a year-on-year growth of 39.0%; while that of telecommunications 85.815 billion yuan, up 51.1% year on year.
From January to September, the province has completed a total of 332 million express delivery, with a total income of 3.483 billion yuan, up 55.8% and 47.1% respectively year on year. The average daily delivery has surpassed 1.2 million. However, the traditional postal services such as newspapers and magazines orders, bills of exchange, philatelic services and letters, all showed a large decrease.
As for the telecommunications, the number of 4G users has surged by 95.0% year-on-year to 27.3641 million, while that of broadband subscribers has exceeded 10 million, a year-on-year increase of 21.5%. However, the number of fixed telephone subscribers has continued decreasing, with less than 8 million by the end of this September, reduced 217.1 thousand compared with the same period the previous year.
