Three Yueyang Projects Signed at Hunan-GBA Matchmaking Conference and Major Projects Signing Ceremony

The 2019 Hunan-Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) Matchmaking Conference and Major Projects Signing Ceremony were held in Hong Kong on April 15. Thirty-two major projects were signed on site, with a total investment of 170 billion CNY. Among them, three major projects of Yueyang City were contracted, with a total investment of 17.5 billion CNY. Liu Hesheng, secretary of the CPC Yueyang Municipal Committee, attended and witnessed the signing.

The Hunan (Hong Kong) Investment and Trade Fair was launched in Hong Kong in 1988. Since then, it has become an important platform for economic and trade exchanges and cooperation between Hunan and Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao. This year the trade fair has been renamed as the “Hunan-Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Investment and Trade Conference”. It takes place in Hong Kong, Macao, and Shenzhen simultaneously. It is not only a name change, but an upgrade of the strategic location. Hunan will write a new chapter on opening up and cooperation in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

Yueyang, one of the closest GBA neighbors, has always been close to Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao. At the 2017 fair, Liu Hesheng, the former Yueyang mayor, led a delegation to Hong Kong. A total of 24 projects were inked with an contracted value of more than 60 billion CNY.

The three major projects signed at the conference were: Yangshutang Financial Center Project, Elion Ecological Cultural Tourism Town Project, and Zhuoernuo Mobile Phone Glass Case Production Project.

The Yueyang delegation would release 14 provincial-level key investment projects, covering such areas as new industrialization, energy and urban infrastructure, modern agriculture, and modern service industries.
