Construction of Inheritance and Exchange Centre of Hengyang Intangible Cultural Heritage

Introduction: Since the 11th Five-year Plan, Hengyang City has initiated the implementation of “strengthening the city by culture” strategy. For the purpose it has newly built, renovated and reconstructed a group of important cultural facilities like Antiques Storehouse of Hengyang Museum, Huxiang Cultural Centre, Hengyang Library and Shigu Academy. Constructing an inheritance and exchange centre of intangible cultural heritage is beneficial to the synchronization of cultural construction and economic development, and the simultaneous advancement of cultural industry and cultural system reform. The project is intended to be located in Shigu District, covering a site area of about 40 mu and total floorage of about 15,000m². It would consist of intangible cultural heritage theatre, cultural heritage exhibition centre, folk arts and crafts exhibition hall, intangible cultural heritage protection centre, office building, training and inheritance centre, rehearsal hall, research and creative centre, and auxiliary facilities, etc.
