Hunan, Tencent Cooperate on “Internet Plus” Initiative

 

On the afternoon of Aug. 31st, Secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee Xu Shousheng meets with Chairman of the Board and CEO of Tencent Inc. Ma Huateng for cooperation.

 

Departments of Hunan Provincial People’s Government sign strategic cooperation framework agreements with Tencent Inc.

 

Both sides will collaborate on “Internet Plus” strategy.

 

The whole province will experience WeChat City services.

 

On Sept. 1st, Hunan Provincial People’s Government and Tencent Inc. jointly held a strategic cooperation framework agreement signing ceremony on “Internet Plus” development. Governor Du Jiahao and Chairman of the Board & CEO of Tencent Inc. Ma Huateng signed an agreement on behalf of each side.

 

The agreement sets the implementation of the “Internet Plus” initiative as a medium and the contribution to Hunan’s economic transition and upgrading and the improvement of social undertaking as the goal. After fully integrating the advanced resources of both sides, and adopting the existing large user base, the mature cloud computing capability, and the powerful platforms and products of Tencent, including WeChat, QQ, hn.qq.com, and qcloud.com, the two parties will build a comprehensive and profound strategic partnership to promote the integration of the internet with various social and economic sectors of Hunan Province.
