Colin Bissessar: An Evening in the Park

Go to any park in China in the evening and, weather permitting, you'll find it bustling with activity. Large groups of people (well mostly women) will be line dancing. It's a major form of exercise for many people especially the elderly. Children will be runnning here and there, laughing and fighting as they play with their toys. Some are rollerblading or skateboarding, all enjoying the freedom of having no classes. Couples stroll hand-in-hand, often accompanied by a stroller or a dog.

Many, many people just go to watch all the others do their thing.

Parks in China are not quiet, but they are surprisinly relaxing.
