David: Hike up Yuelu Mountain

Friends,

Today's Entry won't be too long. I've decided to update the blog frequently but in small doses. Readers tend to be intimidated by long texts and to loose interest half way through.

This morning I woke up with some back pains so I decided not to go to the first class. I heard that for the second period, our teacher "Hu Laoshi" was taking us on a Hike up Yuelu mountain.

Yuelu
Mountain apparently has a very interesting history, a trait that attracts many visitors to it from all over China.
A little on Yuelu Mountain:

MountYuelu is located on the west bank of Xiang River in Changsha, Hunan, China. Its main peak, Yunlu, is 300 meters high.

Mount Yuelu is noted for its many scenic spots, including Qingfeng gorge, Aiwan Pavilion, Lushan Temple, Yunlu Palace, the White Crane Spring and the Flying Stone.

We had a fun hike up the mountain. The view was not extremely clear thanks to a combination of Changsha's pollution and humidity but all in all it was nice to change the classroom atmosphere. Hu laoshi had a story for every monument and plant we saw and it also gave a chance for the students to get to know one another.
